When does star anise bloom and bear fruit?
The flowering and fruiting time of star anise varies depending on the species and growing conditions, but it is usually divided into two main fruiting periods.

The first fruiting period blooms from March to May and the fruit ripens from September to October.
The second fruiting period blooms from August to October and the fruit ripens from March to April of the following year.

The crown of the star anise tree is tower-shaped or conical, the bark is dark gray, and the branches are dense. The leaves are irregularly alternate, obovate-elliptical, oblanceolate or elliptical. The flowers are pink to dark red.

Star anise is a famous seasoning spice and a raw material for medicine. Its peel, seeds, and leaves all contain aromatic oils, which are important raw materials for the manufacture of cosmetics, sweet wine, beer and food industries.
